Sniffles, sneezes and shivers kind of go hand in hand with chilly weather. We all know how unpleasant colds can be. Luckily there are a number of tricks you can use to strengthen your immune system and kick that cold before it has even started.
One of the most obvious ways to prevent a cold is a good night’s rest. Not only is it brilliant for your skin, it also is essential for keeping you healthy and your immune system intact. When you sleep, your body is able to create cells that boosts the immune system by regulating the release of the stress hormone cortisol. With this boost the immune system is strengthened.
Yes, even if it is freezing outside, it is totally worth going to the gym. We are not saying that you should go hardcore with the workouts but just enough to get your heartbeat and blood pumping! When you work-out, you allow your body to release sweat which releases toxics which your body does not need.
• A COLD SHOWER
Now, this next one might sound not so fun, but it actually works. At the end of your shower, flick the shower temperature down a few degrees for 10 seconds before turning it back to warm. Repeat this for at least two times. The temperature fluctuation works by shocking your body into action and the change from hot to cold creates steam which is great for clearing blocked nasal passages and relieving sinus pain.
Of course, there are many more tips and tricks out there but, these are the ones that do it for us. A cold or a flu is not always preventable but, you can make it easier to prevent most of them.
