The Skin of your scalp.

Did you know that healthy hair has a lot to do with healthy skin (on your scalp)? Fact is that strong and beautiful hair goes hand in hand with a healthy skin on your scalp.

Beneath your hair lies the sensitive skin of your scalp. The skin on your scalp requires separate care to remain healthy. Like the skin on the rest of your body, your scalp consists of layers of tissue.

The lower layers are the newest skin. Remained untouched. These are therefore the healthiest. The outermost layer consists of cells that are mostly dead tissue and ready to be shed to reveal the newer layers of skin beneath. Too much of these loose sheds are the cause of dandruff. So it’s important that the outmost layer of the skin of your scalp goes a long a normal duration to minimize dandruff to a minimum.

The skin on your scalp contains sebaceous glands, which produce the oil necessary to keep the skin on your scalp lubricated and healthy.

A healthy scalp care routine involves regular cleansing with non-chemical products to remove bacteria, sweat and excess oil from the skin. Use simple natural haircare products to prevent over-drying. Since we couldn’t find anything, we invented a natural haircare product made by Moroccan Argan oil and flowers ourselves. Read more.

Strong and beautiful hair literally starts at the roots. Give your scalp a little extra attention, and your hair will shine and look so much stronger and healthier.

The haircare industry has misinformed us for decades.

It’s not sexy to talk about a persons scalp. It’s not marketable”.  These were the exact words our Product Manager– Willem Frees – got when he pitched the idea of a natural scalp treatment product to his last employer. His employer was a multi-national, which controls a big part of the haircare industry worldwide.

The haircare industry has made us believe that you have to take care of your hair in order to regain its condition, but this actually makes little sense. However, you can make your hair unhealthy and damage it when you use chemical treatments. For instance; Bleaching, Dying and permanent waves damages your hair. Even a “normal” (chemical) shampoo can damage your hair. If you used these products on your skin, your skin would not survive.

5 steps to a healthy scalp and growing stronger hair.

Stronger and healthier hair must be grown. The biggest lie ever told in haircare is that you can make excising hair thicker. It’s impossible. However, it is possible to grow thicker and stronger new hair. This has to do a lot with your scalp.

Below we will discuss the 5 steps that are proven to have a healthy scalp and grow stronger hair. We will NOT discuss obvious factors that are BAD for your hair like bleaching, chemical treatments or washing daily.

1. Massage for better circulation

Because the scalp has relatively not many blood vessels, hair specialists advise to stimulate blood flow. The improved blood circulation to your scalp gives the capillaries more resilience and nutrients are better absorbed. Furthermore hair growth is stimulated and the hair roots are resilient to external influences. Read here how to massage your scalp.

2. Start at the bottom

A healthy scalp can be compared with growing a healthy plant. Plants also need a good surface to live and grow. They need nutrients and to moisture. Without these factors plants (and hair) will die. That’s why you need a shampoo or hair mask that moisturizes the scalp. Read here what our Hair Mask, Scalp Treatment & Miracle shampoo does.

3. A healthy balanced diet

Healthy hair and a healthy scalp means a healthy diet. The food that you consume should be balanced meaning that it should have all the vital nutrients that are important for the health of your scalp. This is a super important step! It has been proven over and over.

Green leafy vegetables, beans, nuts, eggs, fish, and chicken are a good source of protein that assists hair growth. Preferably consume foods that are rich in antioxidants. This will boost your metabolism and also improves blood circulation that is necessary for a healthy scalp.

4. Lukewarm water

Just like a plant, warm water is bad for the surface. In your case, it’s bad for the skin on your scalp and hair. We recommend to wash your hair lukewarm water. Lukewarm water keeps the moisture in your scalp and hair.

5. After washing your hair

We blow-dry and style our hair too hot and too often. It has been underestimated by many people, how bad this is for your hair and scalp. Blow-dry your with cold air for a few weeks. The results will blow you away.
