What to use after a face mask?

The number 1 mistake you are probably making after you have used your face mask is using a moisturizer. A moisturizer after a face mask blocks your pores. Your face mask has done more harm than good.

So what to use after a face mask you might ask? The answer lays in the ocean. We sourced sea plants like seaweed and sea kale from the Greece and Mediterranean sea.

Nice to know: We have closely worked with the only certified “vegan fishery” in Europe that replants the seaweed and follows strict sustainable principles.

What are the right steps after using a face mask?

You are almost done with your mud mask, peel mask, moisturizing face mask or sheet mask. Now you are ready to rinse it off. These are the steps you have to take.

Step 1 –Rinse your face with preferably cold water to rinse of your face mask. Hard to rinse off your mud mask? Use luke-warm water and follow with cold water.

Why cold water? The cold water helps to close down your pores.

Step 2 – Pat dry with a soft, clean towel. Keep a separate towel for the face and use a fresh clean towel always. Do not rub the face with the towel. This can disturb the elasticity of your skin.

Step 3 – Important: Wait 2 minutes. This gives your skin the time to adapt.

Step 4 – Use a skincare product specially designed for after a face mask. Do NOT use a heavy moisturizer. Preferably use a lightweight serum.

The Aftermask Vitamin Serum

The Aftermask Vitamin Serum is the first natural skincare product that is designed to be used after any mud mask, peel mask, sheet mask or any other face mask. This super lightweight serum is made to feed and nourish your skin with the right vitamins.

Natural vitamins, like Sea Fennel, sourced from the sea. We never add syntactic vitamins to our products. The skin can’t absorb most syntactic vitamins. We only use natural vitamins that are proven by history. We didn’t use any fragrance or essential oils, because these ingredients don’t belong in a serum.

The Aftermask Vitamin Serum has five important tasks:

Extra Smoothing

Himanthalia Elongata is a brown seaweed which helps to restore the skin’s moisture levels. It’s known to provide high levels of Vitamins A, C and E along with essential amino acids and other natural minerals. Himanthalia Elongata also helps to balance your skin’s pH.

Anti-Aging

Sea Fennel (Crithmum Maritimum) is packed with vitamin A and is considered as a natural alternative for Retinol by scientists. Sea Fennel softens the skin, boosts collagen, speeds cell turnover, reduces fine lines and evens out skin discoloration and texture. Furthermore it has the ability to unclog the pores after a face mask.

Feeding

Dimethylimidazolidinone Rice Starch from Indonesia feeds the skin with natural antioxidants like vitamin C, vitamin-A, phenolic and flavonoid compounds. Free radical damage from age, sun and environment is being minimized in this way.

Protecting

Dulse, also known as Palmaria palmata, is red seaweed that grows attached to rocks. Dulse is packed with valuable minerals, which help to protect your skin against environmental damage like polluted air.

Nourishing

We have used fresh made Rose Water and combined it with Laminaria Saccharina to nourish your skin. Rose Water contains anti-oxidants and various vitamins which help to nourish your skin. Laminaria Saccharina is a Sea Algae that contains a large amount of Alguronic Acid, which is helpful in boosting cell reproduction.
